who we are

The Kenule Saro-Wiwa Foundation (KSWF) was founded in 2017 to foster environmental sustainability by supporting a climate in which the management of natural resources, technological advancements, investment decisions and socio-economic development all work in harmony, fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the people of the Niger Delta  in particular, and global south as a whole.

The KSWF anchors its operations on 6 thematic areas (programmes), namely; Literature and literacy, Artivism, Environment, Future economies, Tech and innovations, Partnership and collaborations.

Our projects includes Arts & cultural festivals, Artivism workshops and training, Tech hubs in Port Harcourt and Bane, Social Entrepreneurship workshops and seminars, Popular Political Education (PPE)

At the heart of the KSWF is the indelible mark that the works and sacrifices of Ken Saro-Wiwa imprinted on humanity. We institutionalize the memory; life, principles, ideologies, activism, works and legacies of Ken Saro-Wiwa. As a Foundation, we consider it a privileged-responsibility to encapsulate the martyrdom of Ken Saro-Wiwa.
